I have come
to meet with You
at the well.
And
You
ask me,
me, Lord,
for a drink.
I cannot respond
for I have
nothing
to offer You;
nothing
except myself.
But
in that admission
there is
no condemnation
in Your eyes
as You look
at me;
as You smile
at me
and hold out
Your hands
for me
to take.
If your hands
had been full,
You say,
I could not have
grasped you;
held you;
offered Myself
to you.
But now
I can give
you
all that I long
for you to have;
for you to share
with Me.
I can give
you
Myself.
I am
Living Water.
Enough
to quench your thirst.
Enough
and more,
so that
when you leave
this place;
when you turn
to face the world again
you will have
Water.
You will have enough
of the Living Water
for you to be able
to offer it
to those
who come
to you;
to those
who ask
you
for a drink.
