Come aside again
to your special place.
It is a long time
since you came here
and
I have been waiting for you,
watching for you,
watching you struggle,
thinking you were on your own
when,
all the time,
I was here,
waiting for you
to come to Me
for rest,
for help,
for comfort.
You know now
that I can help,
that, in Me,
you can find
rest,
and hope,
and, above all,
the love
you seek.
Bring all your burdens
and lay them down
at My feet
before you come and sit
with Me.
Do not unpack them.
Leave them where they are.
I know what it in
each bundle,
large or small.
I know,
and I will deal
with each one
in My own time,
in My own way.
Leave them
and trust Me.
Come and sit by Me,
free of anything
that would hinder you
from seeing Me;
from hearing Me;
from receiving from Me.
Sit here,
rest,
and I will renew your strength.
Enjoy this time apart
with Me.
I have waited
for you to come
and
I am not about to leave.
I have no other plans
but to be with you now.
I have all the time in the world
for you,

I have been writing poems for a number of years now and many of them have been used as prayers in church services.
Recently I have started to write meditations. These are based on people in the Bible who met with Jesus.
Other meditations are to be read on a more personal level as God speaks to us, collectively or as individuals where we are now.
The meditations can be used in services, in study groups or in private.
I live in York, England, and worship at Holy Trinity Church, Heworth, and St Olave's Church in York.
I work as Property Manager for the Diocese of York in the Church of England.
