This time;
this time
it was all
so peaceful;
so calm;
so unhurried.
Like before
we knew
He was leaving us,
but
this time
there was no noise;
no angry crowd;
no insults;
no brutality.
And no death.
Strange that.
He was leaving us
but
He wasn’t dying.
He was going away,
yes;
going back to be
with His Father,
yes,
but
not dying.
And this time,
this time
we were not sad.
We rejoiced
with Him,
that His job was done;
that His task had been completed;
that He had triumphed.
And
we had had the privilege,
the joy,
the pain
of sharing His journey
with Him
here on earth.
But
more than that
He had shown us
the Way;
the Way to God
that we too could travel.
We too could
share His journey
back to Heaven
one day.
And,
what was really
exciting,
thrilling,
comforting
was
that He had promised
to be with us
on our journey;
all the way.
And if there was
one thing we had learnt
it was
that Jesus
always
kept His promises.
